UPDATE: Consortium News reports this morning, December 12th, that Julian Assange suffered a mini-stroke on October 27th, during arguments concerning his extradition (source). How long can we allow this atrocity to continue?

The Friday, December 10 news from London was that Julian Assange can be extradited to the United States to stand trial for espionage for exposing U.S. war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, exposures featuring leaked documents from Chelsea Manning, which were widely published, not just by WikiLeaks but also by a consortium of news outlets led by the British Guardian back in 2010-2011. The British High Court overturned a decision of a lower court on the U.S. Justice Department’s extradition request.  The lower court found that Assange was at risk for suicide if extradited.

Assange is left to appeal to the British Supreme Court, a process which can drag on for months, while he continues to be tortured in Britain’s notorious high-security Belmarsh Prison.

The British High Court accepted the representations of the United States that Assange would not be held in a supermax prison here but would, instead, be held in the Alexandria, Virginia detention center for his trial in the Eastern District of Virginia, and could serve his sentence, if convicted, in his native Australia. These representations, of course, were all conditional on his good behavior as assessed by his jailers. Journalist John Pilger noted the moment correctly in his tweet, “Mark this day as fascism casts off its disguises.” 

 Everything that has occurred in this case so far, however, shows that the most likely outcome is a judicially sanctioned murder of the WikiLeaks founder well prior to any transit to Virginia. That is, unless substantial forces across the American and British political spectrum demand the immediate freeing of Julian Assange and a full investigation of the real reasons for his imprisonment, and make that demand stick. Were that to happen a major step forward will have been made in the salvation of the Constitution and the American Republic.

As Tom Paine famously opened his Crisis Papers, “THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

It is no exaggeration to say that how you act in this moment will determine whether or not the Constitution survives. It is not just a First Amendment issue, although that is a keystone for freedom in our Republic and the ability to think creatively in shaping the future. The issue resides in the fact that America is currently occupied by an oligarchical globalist power bent on destroying this Republic’s foundations. These forces, acting through the intelligence and defense community and a bought Congress, staged a coup against the 45th President of the United States, rigged an election to defeat him, and is now attacking the Constitution on several fronts. It is erecting a surveillance and censorship regime worthy of George Orwell’s 1984. And covering up for the crimes committed in that coup is the center of the murderous intent Washington’s Deep State Borg shares with the City of London concerning Julian Assange.

Pompeo designated Assange, a journalist, the equivalent of an international terrorist, the head of “a hostile non-state intelligence agency,” in order to unleash the wave of terror against him.

Mike Pompeo is currently positioning himself for a presidential run as the establishment GOP attempts to reorganize itself based on bellicose war plans for the world and a final assault on Donald Trump’s promise to end forever wars and regime change coups—a promise antithetical to the existence of most in current Washington, D.C.

It is also no secret that the CIA and FBI, working through Undercover Global, a Spanish security firm cutout funded by Sheldon Adelson, engaged in 24-hour surveillance of Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he had taken diplomatic refuge. But the actual stakes now go much, much deeper. The Anglo-American Empire did not control him, and he was intent on imposing America’s sovereignty over its own affairs once again, against the demands of their globalist Empire. 

Throughout 2016, the campaign was targeted by the CIA, FBI, DOJ, and British and Ukrainian intelligence. Gina Haspel had a key role in this, working as the CIA liaison at the Embassy in London. The dirty Christopher Steele dossier and the targeting of Paul Manafort, Mike Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, and many, many others—all of it was the product of a collaboration between British, American, and Ukrainian intelligence. All of it was known by the Obama White House and the current Administration of the senile Joseph Biden. All of it was illegal. 

The keystone event in the smear campaign against Donald Trump as some sort of Manchurian candidate, somehow under the control of Russian President Vladimir Putin, occurred with the alleged hacking of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the phishing of John Podesta’s emails, all of which was attributed to the Russians. In July 2016, Assange and WikiLeaks began the release of the purloined documents definitively demonstrating that Hillary Clinton and the DNC were cheating Bernie Sanders out of the Democratic nomination and that Hillary Clinton was a craven slave of Wall Street.

But Assange and WikiLeaks consistently said that Russia had no role in their acquisition of the documents and Assange implied that the murdered DNC staffer, Seth Rich, was a source of the documents. The Obama Administration signed off on the orchestrated lie that Putin had elected Donald Trump, generating a phony “17 agency” January 2017, official intelligence community assessment which said exactly that. The insane Senator John McCain called for the invocation of Article 5 of the NATO treaty, to wit, war with Russia to remedy this. 

In January 2017, lawyers for Assange approached the DOJ in an attempt to work out a deal by which he would be able to walk freely out of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. His card was the fact that WikiLeaks had obtained Vault 7, the CIA’s hacking tools, thought by many to have been used to create a fake Russian trail to the DNC’s servers and Podesta’s emails. Assange offered to cooperate to mitigate damage from publication of the Vault 7 materials, and to demonstrate the security vulnerabilities which resulted in WikiLeaks possessing the documents. He also offered to prove that the Russians were not involved in WikiLeaks acquisition of the trove of documents from the DNC and Podesta.

But James Comey of the FBI and Mark Warner of the Senate Intelligence Committee, a key participant in the coup against Donald Trump, intervened to sabotage any deal. https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/394036-How-Comey-intervened-to-kill-Wikileaks-immunity-deal When the deal fell apart, Assange released the leaked Vault 7 documents, which the CIA characterized as the most devastating security breach in its history. 

In fact, Pompeo’s first public remarks as CIA Director, delivered on April 13, 2017, at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focused almost exclusively on the threat posed by WikiLeaks and Julian Assange. This is where the former Never Trumper and snake within the Trump Administration first openly described WikiLeaks as a non-state hostile intelligence agency, subject by that description to any and all counterintelligence operations up to and including assassination.

Meanwhile, Bill Binney, the former Technical Director of the NSA, and his colleagues at the Veterans Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) were busy creating their own proofs that the WikiLeaks materials did not come from the Russian hack described by the intelligence community. In October 2017, Pompeo was forced to meet with Binney at the direction of President Donald Trump. In December 2017, in secret testimony to the House Intelligence Committee, Shawn Henry, from CrowdStrike, the private firm designated by the FBI to examine the DNC’s computers, admitted that they could not show the “exfiltration” of materials typical of a hack, rather than a leak. His testimony remained classified until 2020 when Donald Trump finally secured a Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, who was on his side.

In the interim, from May 2017 forward, after Donald Trump fired James Comey, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Mueller’s controller Andrew Weissman, and co-conspirators at the DOJ, the Congress and the media joined to conduct a prosecutorial jihad against the Trump Presidency, investigating and indicting many of the people targeted illegally by British intelligence, the American Deep State, and the Obama Administration in 2016. 

The aim of the inquisition was to keep the Russiagate myth ever prominent in the public mind, cover up the crimes committed against Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016, while sending the signal that anyone giving legitimacy to the Trump President would suffer the most severe consequences. It was also aimed at destroying any possibility of the peaceful engagement with Russia which Trump advocated.

Mueller’s entire predicate for this prosecutorial subversion of an American presidency was the fake story that Russia engaged in cybercrimes with Julian Assange and WikiLeaks. 

Assange was indicted in the Eastern District of Virginia on March 16, 2018, for his collaboration with Manning, although documents in the case indicate that the grand jury investigation had been underway since at least December 2017, if not earlier. This was four months after the Rohrabacher visit. The indictment was sealed, however, until Mueller concluded his witch-hunt. It was unsealed in April 2019. It provided the pretext for brutally dragging Assange out of the Ecuadorian Embassy that same month and incarcerating him at Belmarsh based on the DOJ’s extradition request.

The indictment charges an illicit computer intrusion based on the allegation that Assange helped Manning crack a password.  It says nothing about Vault 7 or the predicate for Russiagate, the alleged hack of the DNC servers and phish of John Podesta. That would risk too much.

When lawyers for Assange were shooting major holes in the initial indictment during the extradition proceedings, on May 23, 2019, the DOJ added 17 counts of espionage in a superseding indictment, an unprecedented application of that act to a journalist for revealing “classified information.” The intent is to bury Assange forever, end any more journalism exposing the crimes of empire, while completely covering up the crimes committed against the Trump Presidency.

It should be clear from this history that the criminals involved cannot risk an adversarial proceeding, however limited, in a U.S. court. They are intent on carrying out their murderous intent. It is perfectly consistent with the present state of affairs that the London decision continuing this atrocity occurred on the very day when Joseph Biden was hosting a summit, claiming to defend “democracy.”
