In the formation of our Nation, were we simply, as is often portrayed by modern day historians, a backwoods frontier people who rebelled against the over-reaching authority of a sovereign King? Or, to put it in modern terms, was our revolution simply a rebellion against big government, excessive taxation, and an encroachment on our personal freedoms?
Our true pre-revolutionary fight for independence was founded on the historical knowledge that the creative spark of reason distinguishes all of humanity from the animals. Our revolution was a fight to nourish and protect our creative genius from the attempt by the British oligarchy crush it.
