• Joe Biden to the Council on Foreign Relations January 23, 2018, regarding his 2016 firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma in 2016. The Biden family is alleged to have received $10 million from Burisma for this action: “And I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor. And they didn’t. So, they said they had—they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to—or we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, you have no authority. You’re not the president. The president said—I said, call him. I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

The testimony of the two IRS agents responsible for the investigation of Hunter Biden’s tax crimes was released by the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday afternoon. They are now whistleblowers. Instead of the crimes Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, and yes, Joe Biden should have been charged with, Hunter alone will be charged for misdemeanor failures to file taxes and will not be punished. The whistleblowers’ testimony and the preliminary results of House investigations of Biden family corruption are shocking but typical of our post-truth republic.

According to House Oversight Chair James Comer and Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, the Biden family received over $30 million and counting from Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine, Romania, Russia, China, and other countries. All of it was obtained by leveraging Vice-President Biden’s office and the Biden name. That money was laundered through a myriad of bank accounts to escape official notice. Despite undertaking actions on behalf of foreign persons and companies in China, Ukraine, etc., Hunter Biden never registered as a foreign agent. Moreover, with respect to his involvement with CEFC China Energy, Hunter believed he was profiting from the “f---ing” head of Chinese intelligence.

One of the whistleblowers, Gary A. Shapley was the supervisory special agent assigned to the Biden tax investigation until October of 2022 when he was removed because he revealed IRS and DOJ malfeasance and obstruction in the investigation. His specialty is complex international investigations from which he has retrieved billions for the government of the United States. He is apolitical and repulsed by what he witnessed in the Biden investigation. You can read his full testimony here.

Shapley testified: “[W]hatever the motivations, at every stage decisions were made that had the effect of benefiting the subject of the investigation. These decisions included slow-walking investigative steps, not allowing enforcement actions to be executed, limiting investigators’ line of questioning for witnesses, misleading investigators on charging authority, delaying any and all actions months before [the 2020 election] to ensure the investigation did not go overt well before policy memorandum mandated the pause.”

The second whistleblower, the apolitical five-year case agent running the case, also was removed and retaliated against in October of 2022 as the IRS team struggled to bring a criminal prosecution from the investigation which was continuously slow walked and sabotaged by the Department of Justice beginning with Attorney General Bill Barr and continuing with Attorney General Merrick Garland. The Assistant U.S. Attorney on the case was continually briefing Hunter Biden’s defense attorney on prospective investigative steps in the investigation. You can read his testimony here. 

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss sought to bring felony criminal tax charges in both Washington, D.C. and the Central District of California but was rebuffed by both U.S. Attorneys and Main Justice. Weiss’ request for special counsel status was rebuffed by Main Justice. The DOJ let the statute of limitations expire on the felony tax charges. It is obvious from their testimony that Attorney General Merrick Garland lied to the Congress when he said he and his fellows at Main Justice would do nothing to impede the Biden investigation.

The recent disclosures are only the latest demonstrations of the two-tiered Stasi style system now running under the flag of justice in the United States. To ensure this influence peddling scandal never received proper public attention before the 2020 election, former Attorney General Bill Barr set up a 50 person FBI task force which censored the Hunter Biden laptop story in addition to slow walking the Biden investigation. This explains why Barr is now touring media sites and shouting hateful invective against Donald Trump. He needs Trump to disappear to cover his own malfeasance.
