U.S./British Campaign to Suicide Julian Assange Moves Forward
UPDATE: Consortium News reports this morning, December 12th, that Julian Assange suffered a mini-stroke on October 27th, during arguments concerning his extradition (source). How long can we allow this atrocity to continue?
The Friday, December 10 news from London was that Julian Assange can be extradited to the United States to stand trial for espionage for exposing U.S. war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, exposures featuring leaked documents from Chelsea Manning, which were widely published, not just by WikiLeaks but also by a consortium of news outlets led by the British Guardian back in 2010-2011. The British High Court overturned a decision of a lower court on the U.S. Justice Department’s extradition request. The lower court found that Assange was at risk for suicide if extradited.
