Class #5: A Renaissance of the American Family

     October 18, 2021 ·   · 1 reaction

We cannot count what does not exist yet. Yet it is that which is ’coming into being‘ that is more fundamental. The family is, at its heart, that very ‘coming into being.’ The family is the most fundamental human unit, that precedes all else. The mission of America requires—now—a rebirth of the American family: with homes in vital neighborhoods alive with children's laughter.

The globalized system which prioritizes money over physical production is now in its inevitable collapse phase. Today's shortages and higher prices are not going to go away under the current system. Lyndon LaRouche stressed that each nation should strive to have a "full set" economy. That involves modern infrastructure, advanced energy sources, machine tools, an educated labor force—the things needed for a functioning, modern agro-industrial nation.

The damage done by Hurricane Ida is not due to climate change. Storms of that magnitude have occurred long before the industrial age. The damage was due to a lack of investment in infrastructure that could have been built with modern technology, none of which is in Biden's infrastructure.

No matter how you cut it, a modern economy depends on steel, coal and oil. The U.S. has only 9 functioning integrated steel plants. If the U.S. is going to re-industrialize and grow, steel is a basic component. In this edition of LPAC Shorts, Brian Lantz lays out some of the hard facts about steel.

The coronavirus pandemic exposed the glaring vulnerability of America's supply chains. Those vulnerabilities were not caused by the virus but by the stupidity of Wall St.'s and London's globalization drive. If America wants to rebuild its supply chains it must reject globalization and adopt a long-term perspective for reviving U.S. production.

A Production Supply Chain Rebuild: Saving the Crumbling US Economy

Why are US supply chains disrupted, prices rising, inventories falling and the US back-order index increasing?  Global trade is up only 2.7% worldwide, according to the giant container shipping company Maersk.  However, in the US there is a ‘log-jam,’ seen in unplanned empty shelves in retail stores, shortages of foodstuffs, medical supply shortages, labor shortages, back ordered car parts, and fields full of unfinished automobiles and trucks lacking their computer chips. The list goes on.

The pessimists are always wrong. Instead of the zero-growth Green New Deal, LaRouchePAC outlines an energy policy for the future based on expanded nuclear, fossil fuel and fusion that will enable America to triple its manufacturing and expand its economy.

by Bruce Director and Brian Lantz Unlike the farcical so-called infrastructure package being bungled by Biden and both parties in Congress, real infrastructure, as understood by LaRouche, is rooted in the future. The U.S. has many experiences with such an approach, most notably the way the U.S. Space program sparked a reorganization of U.S. economy. That's real infrastructure.

The Western Drought is a National Crisis Demanding a National Solution

by Michael Carr & Brian Lantz Does your neighbor know? Our Western United States is being hit by the most severe drought in over 1200 years, according to climatologists, far surpassing the extreme drought of 2015. Seven states in the West are entirely in drought this week after the US Drought Monitor announced a deterioration of conditions in Montana, which joins California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and North Dakota on the list. That is not to mention whole sections of other western states where extreme drought conditions prevail. Wells are running dry. California and Oregon are suffering from drought fed fires. Electricity is at risk as the hydroelectric dams which produce it are running on empty, particularly in the Colorado River Basin and in California.
