Inquest Opened Into Suspicious Death of Arms Dealer in London; BAE Connection?

June 30, 2007 (LPAC)--An inquest was opened yesterday in London, into the recent death of Asraf Marwan, the Egyptian businessman, and sometimes arms dealer and intelligence operative. Scotland Yard has described the death as "suspicious" and "unexplained," according to The Times of London. Marwan's body was found outside his apartment building in central London. He apparently fell from the balcony of his fourth floor apartment. No cause of death was given yesterday at the inquest opening, by the presiding Coroner, Paul Knapman. This incident is receiving special interest, given the mega-scandal of the decades long BAE affair, involving topmost figures in the two kingdoms of Britain and Saudi Arabia, and secret black operations funds of $80-100 billions.

The son-in-law of the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, Marwan has been a key player with Tiny Rowland and Adnan Kashoggi, in weapons deals, especially during the Iran-Iraq war.

Marwan's death was not the first strange death at the apartment house in which he lives. In 1974 General Al-Leithy Nassaf, an Egyptian secret service agent, died after falling from a balcony in the same apartment house.
