Russian Foreign Minister Lashes Out At London

June 2, 2007 (LPAC)--At a press conference in Moscow yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denounced the British scandal-mongering on the Litvinenko affair, reports the English language.

Lavrov said that Russia's relations with Britain were negatively influenced by the British handling of the affair: "The influence is making itself felt, because from the British side, we're witnessing an attempt to use a criminal matter and the need for a professional investigation, to escalate a political campaign."
