China and India Will Not Starve Poor to Satisfy Climate Mafia

May 30, 2007 (LPAC)--China told a summit of 40 European and Asian nations in Hamburg yesterday that it will not be tied to any targets for cutting carbon emissions. China's rejection of demands by the climate mafia to cut back industrial activity follows a statement by India, May 28, that putting a cap on the greenhouse gas emissions will threaten the nation's development programs and adversely affect the poor.

Lyndon LaRouche said of the development that it now means that sane people in the United States (led by himself), Russia, China, and India now agree on the question. There should be no deal on the global warming fraud. "This is not the Roosevelt 'New Deal.' It's the LaRouche 'No Deal,'" the statesman said.

Beijing wants the developed world to take the lead in cutting emissions, allowing Asia to seek economic growth and fight poverty, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said at a press conference to conclude the Europe-Asia meeting (ASEM) of foreign ministers at Hamburg, Germany.

However, the foreign minister stepped back from denouncing theof global warming. "The developed world should do more, but China will do its best," Yang said. "We believe that in fighting climate change, we should have a common goal but differentiated responsibilities," the foreign minister added, quoting from a declaration adopted at the meeting.

Chinese and Indian rejection of the setting up of mandatory targets on greenhouse gas emissions will, no doubt, deflate the charge, led by Germany, to issue a strong resolution fighting climate change at the upcoming OECD meeting.
