Is this Another British Geopolitical Stunt to Destabilize India before the G8 Summit?

May 18 (EIRNS)-- At least five people have been killed during the Friday prayers in a bomb blast at the Mecca Masjid, located in India's southern city of Hyderabad, reports Asian Age , a news daily in India. Mecca Masjid is the largest mosque in Hyderabad and is located near the famous monument, CharMinaran area where many Muslims reside.

The attack was the third such bombing of a mosque in India in the last year, each of which has raised fears of sectarian violence. The attack is also in line with the bomb blasts last July in Mumbai commuter trains that killed almost 200 people, prior to the 32nd annual G8 Summit. This years G8 Summit, lead by Germany, will be hosted in Heiligendamm, Germany from June 6 to June 8.

Hyderabad, once the capital of the most powerful Muslim ruler during the British Raj /British India days, is now a major area of growth centered around Information technology-related service sector industries.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the blast, there are two major suspects. To begin with, India's close alignment with the United States in the war of terror has provided the British intelligence a golden opportunity to use its, and the Pakistani ISIs, assets to trigger sectarian violence within India.

Secondly, embracing of the globalization and economic liberalization policies willy-nilly by the Manmohan Singh government in New Delhi at the behest of promoting a GDP growth-driven economy has enhanced disparity between India's hundreds of millions of poor and a thin creamy layer. Hyderabad is surrounded by poor agricultural workers, many of whom have given vent to their anger by either joining a violent Maoist movement that thrives in that area, or providing support to them. New Delhi's inability to do anything of substance to help the poor poses new threats from a very large section of Indians.
