At the same time in the province of Alberta, Energy Alberta Corp., and Atomic Energy Canada have just announced plans to build a 2,200-megawatt nuclear power plant, in northern Alberta-- potentially at Whitecourt. The companies intend to file a license application with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission by June 15.
