Update from Fresno, CA: Another Video Game Induced Shooter Arrested

May 8 (LPAC)--Police in Fresno, California have arrested a 19-year-old student who allegedly shot three people, killing one of them, during a dispute over a video game console. Police have identified the suspect as Jonquel Brooks, a freshman at California State University in Fresno. One person is dead, and two were injured in the shootings.

ABC TV News, AP, and the Los Angeles Times reports cited one of the shooting victims as saying that the disputed started when he and the other shooting victims accused Brooks of stealing a Sony Playstation console and game from their apartment, which is located in an area of student housing for the University where Brooks was enrolled.

LPAC is independently investigating the details reported in the media.

What is confirmed is what LPAC and both Lyndon and Helga LaRouche have been warning--there is a widespread danger of "school shooters," who have been produced out of the large population of youth addicted to violent video games. Links relating to the Virginia Tech incident, and the LaRouches' call to ban videogame violence, can be found.
