LaRouche's Support for the South American `Bank of the South' Presented in Interview on Ecuadorian Radio

May 3 (EIRNS)--Quito, Ecuador radio show host Patricio Pillajo interviewed EIR's Dennis Small for 30 minutes this morning, on the subject of Lyndon LaRouche's statement supporting the efforts to create a Bank of the South. The Finance Ministers of the region are meeting in Quito today to discuss the formation of the Bank of the South as a new regional financial institution run by the area's governments.

Pillajo opened by reading quotes from LaRouche's statement--"I support their efforts in dealing with this challenge, as well as the recent steps by many of these countries to break with the International Monetary Fund and its policies." --and said that some people are critical of the Bank of the South idea, saying it is "sending a bad signal" and making the markets nervous. Small replied that that is like saying you shouldn't send a "bad signal" to Dracula when he's about to sink his fangs into you. You have to do far more than send him a bad signal; you have to put him out of business.

Pillajo went on to ask questions ranging from Bush's veto of the Iraq bill, the danger of a new war in Iran, ethanol and global warming, and the nature of LaRouche's proposal to replace the IMF system. Small reviewed LaRouche's New Bretton Woods program, the FDR precedent, the LYM victory in California, Russia's Bering Straits proposal, and then had a lengthy exchange on the scientific fraud of both global warming and CO2.

It's just a much-publicized scientific fraud, Small said, that's being used to justify the same Dracula policies: IMF genocide, and not allowing industrial development to occur.
