IMF Chops Economic Forecast for United States

October 17, 2007 (LPAC)--The Internation Monetary Fund, in its semi-annual World Economic Outloook, made a sharp downward revision in its rosy growth forecast for the United States, citing credit tightening and mortgage market problems. The IMF said the U.S. economy was set to grow merely 1.9% in 2008, down from the 2.8% forecast in July.
