October 16, 2007 (LPAC)--After meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Jerusalem on Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, started his U.S. tour on Monday when his plane touched down in New York. He met in New York with Henry Kissinger. On Tuesday he will meet with U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and on Wednesday he will be Vice President Dick Cheney and later in the day National Security Adviser Steven Hadley.
Ynet further reports that members of the Israeli Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee are in Washington including Likud member and flunky of Benjamin Netanyahu, Yuval Steinitz; Meretz-Yahad party leader Yossi Beilin, and Yisrael Hasson, and Avigdor Yitzhaki. They will meet U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political affairs Nick Burns who is in charge of dealing with the Iran nuclear crisis.
