Bibi Demands Water and Electricity Be Cut from Gaza; Kucinich Calls Proposal 'Cruel and Unnecessary'
May 21 (LPAC)--The fascist chairman of Israel's Likud party, Binyamin Netanyahu, has called for cutting off all water and electricity to Gaza, not satisfied with the more than 20 lives taken by Israel's recent air strikes.
In a statement issued May 19, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Oh.) said, "Netanyahu's proposal would be cruel and unnecessary in Gaza, where, according to a joint report of the UN food agencies, 46 percent of Palestinians do not have enough food to meet their needs. As a result of the suspension of international aid, the number of Palestinians living in deep poverty, defined as those living on less than 50 cents a day, nearly doubled to more than 1 million people, according the the United Nations Relief Works Agency. The suspension of aid to the Palestinian Authority may have also helped trigger the factional violence."
Kucinich called on the United States to support the Fatah-Hamas unity government established in February, and to renew aid the the Palestinian Authority. "There is no other formula for restoring stability in Gaza and security for Israel," he said.
