LaRouche: Podhoretz Call to Bomb Iran Is Insane
May 30, 2007 (LPAC)--Commenting on neocon Norman Podhoretz's 9-page op-ed in the online Wall Street Journal today, Lyndon LaRouche said that "only an insane man is capable of such an insane idea."
Podhoretz wrote in the op-ed that "I hope and pray" President Bush will bomb Iran. He compared Iranian diplomacy to that of Hitler in 1938, and warns of an "Islamofascism" sweeping the world.
Elaborating on Podhoret'z state of mind, LaRouche said "the man is prepared to have the whole world commit suicide in order to please himself."
"There is no 'Islamofascism,'" LaRouche said. "There's only rage, which is a corporate property of the Saudi government, especially the relevant priesthood."
Norman Podhoretz was editor of Commentary magazine from 1960 to 1995, a left social-democratic journal which turned neo-conservative. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His insanity will be further disseminated in a new book "World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism," to be released by Doubleday on Sept. 11.
