November 13, 2009 (LPAC)—Indian Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna Wednesday met in New Delhi with Liu Qibao, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Coverage in People's Daily stresses the importance of good India-China bilateral relations, but, in an echo of Four Power thinking, notes, "This conforms to not only the basic interests of the two countries, but also will exert wide-ranging and positive influence on the whole world."
The international press campaign, abetted by unpatriotic British influenced agents within both India and China, to destablilize China-India relations around the Dolly Lama's "religious" week-long trip to Arunachal Pradesh, was directly addressed. Minister Krishna said the Indian government is firmly opposed to the negative media hype by certain media institutions in India on bilateral relations, and believes that the two countries can solve the existing problems in bilateral relations through mutual consultations.
