Celebrate Columbus Day By Implementing the LaRouche Plan

October 12, 2009 (LPAC)— As Lyndon LaRouche has repeatedly stressed, the battle for civilization today can be traced directly to the influence of Nicolaus of Cusa and his influence on Christopher Columbus to voyage westward and thus to create the basis for the emergence of a society founded on Renaissance principles, in opposition to the degeneracy of the financial oligarchy which controlled Europe. After the Council of Florence, a succession of developments confirmed Cusa in the intention which he communicated to Paolo Toscanelli and Ferdinand Martin, who in turn conveyed it to Christopher Columbus, to voyage westward. Immediately following the Council of Florence, the oligarchy in the East persecuted those from the East who participated in the Council and repudiated the agreement on the Filioque. Then in 1453, the Venetian imperialists betrayed Constantinople to the Turks. Finally, in 1460, Cusa as General Vicar of Rome convened a Reform Synod and wrote a proposal for General Reform of the Church, which was thoroughly rejected, convincing him that the oligarchy was too deeply embedded in Europe to be defeated there alone.

As LaRouche wrote in The LaRouche Plan, we can trace the current war between the Constitutional legacy of the United States of America and the British Empire directly to the realization of the intention of Nicolaus of Cusa by Columbus. The fight today to restore that Constitutional principle—to extend it throughout the world in the form of a credit system through the Four Powers Agreement, and thus to defeat the British Empire and its Venetian monetary system once and for all—thus derives from the intellectual revolution effected by Cusa and the courage of Columbus to act on those ideas.

This week we are entering a decisive moment in universal history as October 12-15 is now upon us. It is incumbent upon us to ensure that this great historic mission is successful.

Cusa helped man to escape from one Dark Age. LaRouche is working to ensure that man does not descend into another one.

Two different worlds stand before us. The one which we are fighting for under Lyn's leadership is one in which man can finally become man. He can exert his dominion over the entire universe.

Cusa pointed out that the Creator is everywhere and nowhere in particular. To be in the Creator's image, which is man's ultimate mission, thus requires that mankind not be earthbound. We must go to Mars and beyond, just as Columbus rediscovered the Americas.

The alternative to this is unimaginable. It is a fascist Dark Age, in which the spark of humanity is submitted to continuous deep sedation.

It is therefore critical that we remain focussed on our mission, without diversion. The LaRouche Plan must be implemented now if humanity is to survive.

Five centuries from now humanity will look back on what we do this month and regard it as being as decisive for humanity as what Columbus did in his time. And many of those looking back at what we do this week will be on Mars.
