Peter Peterson: "Everything [Including You] Must Be on the Table"

07 Sep 2008

September 7, 2008 (LPAC)--To complement his fascist IOUSA video that is being played across the country, speculator Peter G. Peterson used his foundation to take out a two-page ad in the form of a letter in the front section of the Sunday New York Times to tell Americans who read that they too must demand fascist austerity.

Among those who signed the letter with Peterson, who billed himself as chair of the foundation and former Secretary of Commerce, was fascist strategist George Shultz, austerity advocates, David Walker and Alice Rivlin; and Mario Cuomo, Robert Kerrey, Paul O'Neill, Warren Rudman, and Paul Volcker.

Some quotes:

``Some say we can grow our way of of this potential crisis. They're wrong....

``Everything must be on the table. We need major reforms to our budget processes, entitlement, health care, and tax systems....

``Federal office-seekers cannot realistically be expected to propose detailed plans for Medicare, Social Security, health care, and other necessary spending and tax reforms during campaign season....

The next administration must create a ``bipartisan `fiscal responsibility commission''' which will make recommendations to Congress that will be allowed to cast ``up-or-down vote...as is done with military base closings. Everything must be one the table.''
