July 1, 2008 (LPAC)--Senator Obama "lashed out" and "blasted" a former supporter, as he criticized MoveOn in a speech on Monday. In reality, Obama didn't even mention the Soros-controlled group's name, as he spoke on "patriotism" in Independence Misouri. Obama described a print ad sponsored by MoveOn, which accused General Petraeus of becoming "Betray Us" (in advance of his Congressional testimony last September). As Obama now sees it, "A general providing his best counsel on how to move forward in Iraq was accused of betrayal.... We can no longer afford these sorts of divisions." At the time, however, when Congress took a censure vote on just that issue, Obama, effectively, endorsed MoveOn, by refusing to vote for it.
Obama has been exhibiting various shades of Red, White and Blue this week, as he makes a four-day "Values Tour" in advance of the nation's birthday on July 4th. He spoke of patriotism in Independence yesterday, and of faith in Ohio this morning. On Wednesday, he will preach on "service" in Colorado Springs.
