Blitzkrieg-style Shock and Awe Campaign Foreseen Against Zimbabwe

December 2, 2008 (LPAC)--An opinion article in the pro-government Zimbabwe Sunday Mail yesterday, exposed that a mega-disaster has been planned for the country, between the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) meeting in South Africa, Nov. 10 and the end of the year. The purpose of the Shock and Awe campaign, which the author, Tafataona P. Mahoso, characterizes as a North American popularization of the Nazi blitzkrieg tactic "is to destroy the collective national memory of a people through shock, disorientation or erasure; and to enable an external, alien power or powers to overturn and rearrange the basic political, social and economic relations of that nation and society without facing much resistance," and thus to make it possible to implement regime change.

Some of the indicators of such a crisis campaign, says Mahoso, which have been made possible by London-backed Tsvangirai's delaying tactics, are:

*British, U.S., and EU diplomats descended in large numbers on the SADC summit in South Africa, where leaders of Morgan Tsvangirai's MDC-T party "spent more time with them than with Sadc leaders."

*He notes that Former U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe Christopher Dell came back, at the same time, all the way from Afghanistan, to join his successor James McGee.

*Afterwards, Tsvangirai was smuggled into France by EU diplomats, even though he had been complaining of not having travel documents.

*Cholera broke out in some regions, and anthrax in another region. (Zimbabwe sources report that use of anthrax was a strategy of the settlers during the independence war, to kill the Africans' cattle, so they would not be able to feed the fighters. In some cases this backfired, and began killing off herds belonging to the settlers.)

*The Anglo media began gloating about the cholera, and linked it to Zimbabwe politics, but never mentioning the IMF/World Bank cutoff of the country, which has wrecked the economy.

*Soros-linked Kofi Annan announced that he has been commissioned to go to Zimbabwe, to assess the scope of the humanitarian disaster, "to which the international community needed to respond unilaterally and urgently."

*At the same time the foreign minister of Botswana, announced on BBC that Mbeki had failed, and should be replaced by the UN. SADC should only assist the UN by closing the borders, and dropping food and cholera medicine into the country.

*Finally, Tsvangirai said his party no longer had confidence in Mbeki, and he should resign his mediating role in favor of the UN.

Mahoso cited Arthur Mutambara, one of the parties in thenegotiations, who confirmed that Tsvangirai has been impressed and persuaded by Western disaster-mongers who tell him the so-called Zimbabwe crisis will boil over in less time than it takes to set up the agreed coalition government. In other words, Tsvangirai and some of his advisors believe that all they need to do now is create some delaying excuses which will buy them and the British enough time for the sanctions and the cholera to boil over, sweep Zanu-PF out of power, and open the way to State House for Tsvangirai!

Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who got his position after a three-month period of unrest early this year, said on Nov. 23, "Because there is no legitimate government in Zimbabwe, the AU [African Union] should consider sending a peacekeeping force."
