November 29, 2008 (LPAC) -- Even as British officials issued pious public protests over the terrorist atrocities occurring in Mumbai, India, the British government facilitated a giant public meeting in London itself addressed by the head of the narco-terrorist Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka, a group noted for its suicide bombings and whose long list of atrocities includes the assassinations of Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 and Sri Lankan President Ranasinghe Premadasa in 1993.
Despite protests from the government of Sri Lanka, the annual "Heroes Day" speech of Interpol-wanted Tamil Tigers leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, was broadcast by video to the crowd of 40,000 meeting in London's ExCel Center last night, with the full complicity of the UK government. The outspoken Indian supporter of the Tigers, 'Vaiko' Gopalasamy, was issued a visa by the UK government, so that he could address the London event in person. Vaiko fawned over his colonial masters in that speech, claiming British colonial rule had been good to the Tamils, the pro-Tiger Tamilnet reported. To top it off, British parliamentarians from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils also addressed the meeting.
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), known as the "Tamil Tigers," have kept their international headquarters in London for decades. Not only does British sponsorship serve British Imperial geopolitical ends, but it likely brings in good business for the City of London. The Tigers have been documented to be involved in trafficking heroin through Bombay, Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Canada, and the United States.
