British Attempt to Silence LaRouche in Argentine Congress Fails

November 19, 2008 (LPAC)--Lyndon LaRouche's international webcast was shown in the Argentine Congress today, despite the crude attempt by Her Majesty's British Embassy to force it to be canceled. Twenty people, including new youth contacts, participated in the showing in a second, hastily-arranged room in the Congress.

At the end of the day, the LaRouche Youth Movement in Argentina celebrated a victory: LaRouche's voice was heard in their Congress and their organizing forced the British enemies of Argentina within the Congress out into the spotlight.

The British Embassy-run British-Argentine Parliamentary Friendship Group had used its clout to commandeer the room which had been scheduled for the LaRouche showing, at the last minute for a hastily-organized presentation by a British journalist, ironically enough, on freedom of speech. In the process, someone along the way lied outright that the LaRouche event had been canceled in order to usurp the room. The British found their power wanting, as more self-respecting patriotic Congressmen refused to yield, and insisted a room be found for the LaRouche broadcast to proceed.
