Denver Group Calls on Dean to place Hillary's Name in Nomination

August 8, 2008 (LPAC)--On Wednesday, August 6, the Denver Group which is organizing for an open convention in which Hillary Clinton's name is placed into nomination and there is a roll call vote placed newspaper ads in Lansing, Mi. and in Tallahassee, Fl. On its website the Denver Group explained its actions: "Since Senator Obama announced this week his desire to seat the full delegations of Florida and Michigan, (2 months after the Rules committee hearings) The Denver Group thought it fitting to run ads in Tallahassee, Florida and Lansing, Michigan, each state's capital, reminding voters as well as Howard Dean that the Democratic nomination is far from over." The ad is entitled: "Why Howard Dean should place Senator Clinton's name in nomination" and features a photo of Clinton and Dean. The ad points out that "super delegate declarations made before August 27 count for absolutely nothing" and "according to the Democratic Party's own rules they do not now have an official nominee since neither candidate won enough pledged delegates to secure the nomination." The ad then calls on Howard Dean himself to place Hillary's name in nomination.
