August 1, 2008 (LPAC)--The Federal Reserve has a secret list of 700 banks in critical danger, and another 700 in serious trouble, according to sources close to the Fed. This is far more than the 90 "problem banks" claimed by the FDIC. We have not seen the Fed's list, but it's a safe bet that most of the banks listed here are on it.
