Opposition Walks Out, Government Majority Ratifies Lisbon Treaty in Slovakia
Apr. 11, 2008 (LPAC)--The Parliament of Slovakia approved the dictatorial Lisbon Treaty, which would subject Slovakia to a European Union controlled by the British Empire. In a special session of the 150-seat parliament of Slovakia last night, 103 deputies supported the treaty, five voted against it and one abstained from the vote, whereas 41 of the opposition (that is almost a third of the parliament) walked out in protest before the vote was held. The vote results imply that 18 parliament members from the opposition went over to the government camp, which otherwise would have had no more than 85 votes.
Welcoming the vote already last night, EU Commission President Jose Barroso said the Slovak parliament approved the treaty "in the right time," apparently referring to the many difficulties which the ratification process has run into throughout Europe, recently.
The treaty yet needs to be signed by Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic, who has repeatedly expressed support for it. Slovakia is the ninth EU member to ratify the treaty. So far, it has been approved by the parliaments of Hungary, Slovenia, Malta, France, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania and Austria. The presidents of Poland and Austria have not signed yet, though.
The Anglo-Dutch oligarchy, which is behind the Lisbon Treaty has gone to great lengths to prevent the population of the nations of Europe from voting on the issue and is counting on the parliaments to knuckle under.
