March 30, 2008 (LPAC)--Lyndon LaRouche today strongly denounced the ``racism towards Africa'' of both the U.S. and British governments, which have done nothing but stoke another potential destabilization on the African continent. The just-concluded presidential elections in Zimbabwe have been targeted by London, which has never given up on the idea that the former British colony of Rhodesia may be once again restored to its colonial status. LaRouche also singled out U.S. Secretary of State Condi Rice, who has repeatedly denounced Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe in unspeakable terms, for her own vicious racism towards Africa.
The British operations against Zimbabwe began over the weekend, when British-backed opposition candidate, Morgan Tsvangirai and his party, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) proclaimed their victory in the presidential elections--despite the fact that the National Electoral Commission will first issue the results of the election on Monday, March 31. The actions by Tsvangirai, which violated an agreement all three presidential candidates had signed on to, that they would not make any statements until the official results were announced, were aimed at creating an international impression that the opposition had defeated President Mugabe, and this is to trigger international human rights activations against Mugabe. Typical of the British-led media propaganda barrage, was coverage over the weekend on the Bloomberg news wire, which proclaimed that Tsvangirai obviously won, and any alternative outcome would merely prove that Mugabe is a ``tyrant.''
A Zimbabwean source, reached over the weekend, was confident, both that Mugabe had won the election, honestly, and that any provocations by the MDC would be rejected by the Zimbabwean people, and would lead to a harsh crackdown by the government. The source noted that the Zimbabwean government emerged out of the liberation struggle against British colonialism, and any attacks on the government would be widely seen, inside the country, as ``counter-revolutionary'' actions.
