Axing of Munich Transrapid—A Wedding Gift to the New Entente Cordiale?

March 28 (LPAC) – The coincidence of the Brown-Sarkozy meeting in London with the decision of the German government yesterday to scrap the maglev project in Munich, is more than troubling. The decision against the maglev project expands the list of other pioneer technologies that have been sacrificed—nuclear fission power, high-temperature reactor, manned space missions—along with the German mark (as concessions to get approval to Germany's reunification from London and Paris). The same German government that is throwing the maglev away, is also the one that is planning to scrap the German constitution for the Lisbon Treaty.

One may see a specific financial blackmail in this disaster, namely a threat from the powers that run the Anglo-Dutch financial system, against the German economy and its banking system.

The Thyssen-Krupp firm, producer of the maglev train engine, has announced that it will enter negotiations with the Chinese now, on a sale of the technology to China, where maglev projects have a better chance to get realized.
