February 14, 2008 (LPAC)--A conference sponsored by the LaRouche political party in Germany, and the Fusion Energy Forum, drew an overflow audience of more than 130 people on Feb. 13. The conference, keynoted by Helga and Lyndon LaRouche, was devoted to the topic “Transrapid: Technology of the 21st Century.” Munich, Germany is currently the center of a major debate around the proposed construction of the German-designed high speed magnetically levitated train (called the Transrapid) system, to link it to the airport.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche, chairman of the BueSo party, keynoted the event, with an in-depth discussion of what is at stake in the decision on the Transrapid. It is a question of what direction Germany is going to go, she stressed: toward playing a major role in pushing forward the reconstruction projects required in the post-financial crash world, or toward sinking into irrelevance under the dictatorship of the international financial oligarchy which is driving toward a New Dark Age.
Zepp-LaRouche especially emphasized the need for Germans, and other Europeans, to resist the imposition of the Lisbon Treaty, the so-called replacement for the European Constitution which was rejected by leading European states. The Lisbon Treaty would impose a dictatorship and prevent Europe's participation in the global New Deal which is required to save civilization, she said.
Lyndon LaRouche followed up with an in-depth discussion on the current global financial collapse, comparing it to the Weimar 1923 hyperinflationary collapse, and how it developed since the early 1970s. LaRouche described the alternatives which he personally put forward, which would have prevented the current disaster, and how they were each rejected. He concluded by discussing his personal focus on getting a new President of the United States who would take the necessary measures to restore the sovereign nation state, which must take measures to protect the people, and begin the process of reconstruction.
