"Rogue Trader" Kerviel Denies Acting Alone

PARIS, Febrary 6, 2008 (Nouvelle Solidarité) -- Now living under French police protection, "rogue trader" Jerome Kerviel told Reuters yesterday that Société Générale "was covering up its real practices by shuffling all responsibility on him and him alone," while, according to Le Monde, he stated that "he benefited from the tacit authorization of his hierarchy to act." The New York Times quotes Kerviel as saying: "I am taking my share of responsibility, but I will not be the scapegoat."
