January 23, 2008 (LPAC)--Danish Finance Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen has stopped the planned privatization of the state-owned energy giant DONG Energy. The surprise move, which overruled the recommendations of company officers and his own advisors, came on Jan. 21, two days after a discussion at the Danish parliament with Tom Gillesberg, a leader of the LaRouche organization in Denmark. Gillesberg presented Loekke Rasmussen with LaRouche's analysis of the nature of the global financial system and what must be done to deal with it, and discussed the role of the national government in defending the nation and its population. Over the course of the weekend Loekke Rasmussen cancelled the privatization, telling the Danish press that the government may decide to keep the company.
