El gran efecto político de masas de LPAC en New Hampshire
January 11, 2008 (LPAC)--In late November, Lyndon LaRouche launched a campaign to have a mass political effect on the presidential primary campaigns through the publication and distribution of two LPAC pamphlets: 1) "The Noosphere vs. the Blogosphere; Is the Evil in Your Laptop?"; and 2) "Our USA Needs a Real Candidate! Let there be a time of Thanksgiving." Although LPAC was not in a position to deploy significantly to Iowa prior to the caucuses, LPAC organizers in the LaRouche Youth Movement carried out an extensive deployment in New Hampshire from at least Dec. 22 through the primary election on Jan. 8. Although not supporting any one candidate, through the mass distribution of this literature and our presence at campaign events, we had a decisive impact in shaping the intellectual geometry of the New Hampshire primary.
During this period, LYM organizers distributed thousands of pamphlets and attended and intervened in over 20 political campaign events throughout the entire state of New Hampshire. Beginning on Dec. 22, the five LYM organizers attended three campaign events of Hillary Clinton following her across the state from an apple orchard to a cafe and finally to a middle school.
Throughout our deployment there was high recognition of Lyndon LaRouche who is a native son of New Hampshire and has run for the Democratic nomination for President there in previous primaries. Everywhere people were excited to see LaRouche present through the youth. While Hillary Clinton's campaign did not have any literature to distribute, we distributed the two pamphlets, a leaflet on the dollar crash and the Homeowners and Bank Protection Act.
On Dec. 27, four LYM organizers intervened in another 3 Hillary Clinton events in Manchester, Milford and Lebanon, distributing the Thanksgiving pamphlet. In the Manchester meeting attended by 100 people not including the press, the LYM organizer was able to ask Hillary Clinton a question. The organizer praised Clinton's call for a moratorium on foreclosures but asked her to elaborate on what she will do to protect the banks, which are actually insolvent.
In Lebanon, it seemed like everyone in New Hampshire showed up. We got out a couple boxes of literature to people waiting in line who took it eagerly when we said LaRouche had economic policy advice for the next President!
Then on January 4th we attended two Hillary Clinton events, featuring Bill Clinton, at which we distributed a good deal of literature to people doing in and coming out.
At the next event at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, there was tremendous recognition and respect of Lyndon LaRouche. One person had bought Lyn's autobiography when she was in high school, another said that when he heard Greenspan latest confession on the financial collapse he said: "Yea , actually, it surprised me--didn't he come out saying something like Lyndon LaRouche?"
At one debate, we couldn't get close enough to distribute to the crowd, so we started to sing Christmas carols with political lyrics. In response, a lot of people came over to us, which allowed us to give them literature. One of the reporters said: "Every election year, the LYM is here bringing us song."
