Will Hillary Clinton Adopt LaRouche's HBPA?

December 28, 2007 (LPAC)--LaRouche Youth Movement (LYM) organizers at a Presidential event in Manchester, New Hampshire asked candidate Hillary Clinton about stopping home foreclosures and protecting insolvent banks in the mortgage meltdown. Senator Clinton's responded by indicating she is taking on Wall Street with a foreclosure moratorium, something the other candidates of either party have not proposed.

A LYM member told Clinton, before an audience of about 100, that she was happy to hear that Clinton was the first of any of the candidates to actually call for a moratorium on foreclosures; but asked her to elaborate what she will do to protect the banks, which are actually insolvent. Hillary happily answered the question by proudly explaining her plan for an across-the-board foreclosure freeze of at least 90 days. She informed the audience that she had "gone to Wall Street" with her plan, who were not in least bit happy, pledging to attack her efforts. She also made the point that banks in Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, and around the world have speculated in mortgage-backed securities, but we must not allow the interests of these banks to come first.

At a later event in Milford, another LYM member asked Senator Clinton, "Do you have a plan to protect the banks?" She replied, "I have a plan to stop foreclosures!"

The LYM members circulated Lyndon LaRouche's Homeowners and Bank Protection Act, which has been memorialized to Congress by cities in New England like Lawrence, Massachusetts. It will stop all foreclosures nationwide and protect banks rendered insolvent by the financial crash.
