Bush and Kim Jong Il Exchange Letters

December 15, 2007 (LPAC)--This past week, North Korean leader Kim Jong Il replied to a letter sent to him by President Bush a week earlier, on North Korea's nuclear program and its commitments under the recent agreement with the U.S. While neither the White House nor the State Department would reveal the contents of either letter, during press briefings, yesterday, various news reports indicate that Bush called on Kim to fulfill North Korea's commitments to disable its nuclear facilities and fully declare its weapons programs, and Kim replied that North Korea will meet its commitments.
