LaRouche's Response to Steny Hoyer: [sic] and Sicker

November 7, 2007 (LPAC)--The following is LaRouche's response to Steny Hoyer's press release in regards to his less-than-gutless display on behalf of Nancy Pelosi, and her controller, Felix Rohatyn. First we print LaRouche's reply, then the press release.

Respectfully, your office's message misses the crucial points.

  1. The ouster of Vice-President Cheney is an existential issue of the immediately highest importance for the continued existence of our republic. Failure to oust Cheney now would represent the gravest clear and present danger to the continued existence of our present constitutional republic.
  2. The only legislative issue of comparable importance for our republic is the immediate enactment of my proposed fire- wall legislation, HBPA, without which a social crisis, combined with a chain-reaction disintegration of our banking system were virtually inevitable for the short period immediately ahead.
  3. The Speaker may have a contrary agenda, but that agenda is not presently in the existential interest of our republic. Political egos can not be given priority over the existential interests of our republic and its people.

Hoyer Statement on Kucinich Resolution
Office of the Majority Leader - Steny Hoyer
For Immediate Release

November 06, 2007

WASHINGTON -- House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after dozens of Republicans changed their votes and voted not to table a privileged resolution to impeach Vice President Cheney that was offered by Rep. Kucinich:

"I am surprised that Republicans would treat an issue as important as the potential impeachment of a Vice President of the United States as a petty political game. It is beneath the dignity of this institution.

"This is a continuation of Republicans' gotcha games that achieve nothing more than short term entertainment for themselves, while showing their disdain for the importance of the people's business. While Democrats are striving to address the American people's priorities, this episode has served to demonstrate once again the absence of a real Republican agenda for the American people.

"Speaker Pelosi and I have made it clear that this Congress is not going to proceed with impeachment, and is going to focus on critical issues facing our nation such as health care for children and the war in Iraq."
