Westphalia Principle Acting Against British Empire Geopolitics: Lebanese "THAW" Dialogue Begins on September 25

September 24, 2007 (LPAC)--Just days before the beleagered Lebanese parliament was to meet on September 25 to begin the constitutional process of choosing the next President, Hizbollah ally and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Beri and Phalange Party leader and Former President Ameen Gemayel called time out. The two decided to bring, what is described as, the Anti-Syrian and the Opposition factions together to try to reconcile their differences. One high level source told EIR: "This is the Westphalia Principle at work. The different sides may shout at each other and walk out on each other and threaten each other, but now they again are trying to avoid civil war at all costs. They are trying to act for the good of the nation."
