LaRouche is in Italy to Discuss Solution to Global Collapse

September 20, 2007 (LPAC)--Lyndon LaRouche paid another visit to Italy; the third one this year, to engage in private and public political meetings and discussions. On Wednesday, LaRouche had a high-level meeting with three members of Parliament, one of whom is a member of the government. The discussion lasted one and a half hours and took place in one of the buildings of the Parliament, in a room called "Sala San Claudio" in the Piazza San Silvestro nearby the main Parliament and government buildings.

LaRouche presented his view of the global financial crisis, stressing that he had anticipated the financial collapse on several occasions and that governments, today, face a choice with implications for the survival of the society. "I am personally at war with the hedge funds", LaRouche said, explaining his legislative proposal to stop the social crisis in the USA and start a reorganization to save the homeowners, the banks and the economy.

The interlocutors, although representing different political forces and different opinions, took LaRouche's assessment of the situation very seriously, with one of them making the commitment to develop and introduce a legislative proposal in Italy, based on the LaRouche Homeowners and Bank Protection bill in the USA.

During the discussion, the issue of nuclear energy was raised, and LaRouche made clear that opposition to nuclear energy is based on ignorance, even among scientists who instead of making science have become statistical mathematicians. Without nuclear energy, the world cannot sustain a growing population and afford all families proper standard of living, water, food and other crucial resources.

A transcript of the meeting and a report of the other initiatives will follow.
