September 11, 2007 (LPAC)--The September 10th video game lobby's "Gaming Today" has a story headlined "Lyndon LaRouche Continues Anti-Video Game Crusade Despite Report Findings." The article, replete with a color photo of LaRouche, attacks "LaRouche and his followers" who "continue to preach against violence in video games, insisting they triggered killer Seung Hui Cho's rampage." It then dishes out the lie, that the VA Tech Investigative Panel final report "absolved" video games from being involved with Cho's massacre. The report actually says that Cho was playing video games as early as eight years old. As one expert source commented, this is not something you give up when you become a teenager.
The article, cites from the LPAC website, that Cho was fascinated by the Columbine High School shootings and killers "Harris and Klebold were fanatical users of violent video games such as Doom." Besides LaRouche, the authors vent their spleen against Jack Thompson, the lawyer who has sued the video game industry, including the makers of Grand Theft Auto, for causing numerous murders. Thompson "isn't the only person out there using rhetoric to spread hate, lies and hysteria over video game violence."
