LaRouche Warns Democrats Against Collaborating with Right-Wing Revanchists in China Destabilization

August 17, 2007 (LPAC) -- Efforts in the Congress to coerce China into raising the value of their currency, warned Lyndon LaRouche today, will "destabilize the interior areas of China, and will feed directly into the right wing revanchist tendencies within Japan, and their allies in Taiwan, who are intent on bringing about such a destabilization." LaRouche said that there is absolutely no economic reason to drive the yuan higher, that it has no relevance to trade, but is purely a political ploy. The bill sponsored by Senators Baucus and Schumer and others, and similar anti-China bills before the Congress, will only play into the hands of these right wing revanchist networks.

Current efforts by the same Congressional networks and the media to demonize China over the recall of toys with leaded paint are also politically motivated, aimed at internal destabilization in China. Nancy Nord, acting chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission told NPR on Aug. 15 that this was far from the largest toy recall, that there have been fewer toy recalls this year than the past two, and that this one comes from China simply because our toy manufacturing has largely moved to China.
