August 11, 2007 (LPAC)--The Virginia Police held a news conference on August 10 in Roanoke, VA, its first "public update on the criminal investigation" on the murders at VA Tech since April, 2007 according the Washington Post. State police spokeswoman Corine Geller said that police held the news conference "because we are headed into our fourth month, and we wanted to let the public know that we are still we are still actively investigating this."
An important a detail of the investigation was revealed showing the police may be taking very seriously the demand made by members of the LaRouche Youth Movement, to investigate shooters Seung Hui Cho's involvement with first person shooter video games. Cho's roommates said he played the computer internet video game "Counter-strike," but the press has blocked this detail out. Proof of Cho's video game playing would be found on his computer but the police reported they have not found his computer hard drive. "That's a piece of evidence we'd love to have," State Police superintendent Col. Steve Flaherty said at the press conference.
