August 8, 2007 (LPAC)--Iranian Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein said that Iran has to be on its guard against a whole series of Western plots against the Iranian government. He identified the number one threat as that led by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, with the help of outlawed opposition groups outside the country.
"They try to spread division between forces of revolution and those loyal to the system by utilizing some naive and uninformed people," Hossein said.
Meanwhile he announced the foiling of a plot to carry out a "terrorist attack in the province of Khuzestan, which borders Iraq.
""They were aiming to carry out a terrorist act in the south of the Khuzestan province, but they were arrested before carrying out any action," Hossein was quoted by AFP as saying.
