Bush and Sarkozy May Meet at Kennebunkport

August 6, 2007 (LPAC) - Kennebunkport, where George Bush made a stride toward sanity in early July, may be the site of a meeting between President Bush and French President Nicolas Sarkozy. While Le nouvelobs.com says the meeting may take place starting Aug. 9, and Reuters says it may happen this coming weekend, neither government has confirmed the get-together. Sarkozy is on vacation in New Hampshire, about 50 miles from Kennebunkport; and Bush is scheduled to be at the family estate this weekend.

"The White House and the Elysee (the French presidential palace) will give an update of a possible meeting between President Bush and myself," Sarkozy told reporters Sunday. "Now is not the time to say anything." A White House spokesman has said that no announcement about the meeting has been made.

It was in Kennebunkport in July that Bush--with his father, but without his controller Cheney--met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and took his lead in undercutting the momentum of the confrontationist Cheneyacs, including an agreement to support nuclear development in the developing sector.

The same day that Sarkozy declined to confirm a possible Kennebunkport meeting, he also commented on a French nuclear power deal in the offering with Libya. The Aug. 6 Le Parisien quotes Sarkozy: "When a country goes towards normalization, and renounces terrorism, I prefer it gets help to go towards democratization. It is also a signal towards Iran to show how one can reintegrate the international community by cooperating."
