Murdoch's Kristol Calls Mississippi Bridge Collapse Insignificant

August 5, 2007 (LPAC)--Neo-conservative leader William Kristol, a commentator for Rupert Murdoch's Fox Network, today rejected the idea that the Minnesota bridge disaster is significant.

Appearing on the Fox News Sunday program, Kristol said "we're spending an awful lot of money" already, "mostly state money, not federal. That's the tradition in America and it should probably stay that way. You know, I don't think this symbolizes any great failure of our infrastructure. Once every twenty-five years, some bridge falls down unexpectedly due to engineering problems, and it is unfortunate, obviously. But the idea that the whole country is crumbling is not, I think, credible."
