July 22, 2007 (LPAC)-- Iraq's foreign minister Hoshiyar Zebari told Reuters on Sunday that U.S. and Iranian envoys will meet again in Baghdad on Tuesday. Zebari said: "We support this dialogue and hope it achieves tangible results." The ambassadors to Iraq from both countries will lead the talks with Iraqi government officials present.
As Lyndon LaRouche emphasized, such talks can cut two ways. There is the potential that the failure of such talks can become the pretext for war. The best way to start a war is to have peace negotiations fail. This would not be the first time that someone has called for a peace conference, have it fail and then go to war.
