June 28, 2007 (LPAC)--The London Times suggestion that competing U.S. defense companies are behind the DoJ investigation into the bribery practices and other dirty operations of the British-based BAE Systems, is a joke. "It's like describing a fight between two cannibals over their next meal," said Lyndon LaRouche today concerning London's coverage of the Justice Dept. investigation into BAE. "Squabbles between defense companies are all for show after which they kiss and make up. That's the real story."
One such happy-ending embrace occurred in 2005-2006 between Halliburton and BAE. After BAE screamed and threatened the British government for considering Halliburton subsidiary KBR for shipyard maintenance contracts and other big-ticket items, by 2006 BAE and KBR were merging into an alliance to produce the largest surface ships in history. Get it -- BAE and Dick Cheney's Halliburton are partners.
