Putin: Brits Peddle "Stupidity" Against Russia while Harboring Terrorists

June 4, 2007 (LPAC) – Putin charged Britain with a dangerous public relations plot over the Litvinenko case, and the protection of real terrorists in London. In an interview with Germany's weekly Der Spiegel which was published today, the Russian President said if the British authorities that requested the extradition of Andrei Lugovoi, to stand trial for the murder of Litvinenko, had not known that the Russian constitution bans the extradition of Russian citizens, they are fairly incompetent. "Or, was everything just a PR move by the British side? That would be bad. That is nothing but an act of stupidity... Finally: If British authorities tolerate that a large number of terrorists, rogues and bandits could get refuge in their country, then exactly these pose a real threat to the British citizens."
